Musings

I make bamboo rods as an enjoyable hobby but the hobby has gotten a bit out of control. Either I sell a few rods or buy a bigger house. Selling rods seems like a more practical way to go.

The thing I enjoy most about rodmaking is being able to design my own tapers and then making the idea into a reality. An even bigger thrill is when a good fisherman casts one of my rods and really likes it. The ideas that have worked best are the ones being offered for sale.

Ideally, someone interested in my rods would be able to come to my home and try the rod out before buying but, unless you live in the greater Los Angeles area, that is not always practical. So, I offer you this guarentee – if for any reason you do not like the rod, send it back within 30 days and, if it is still in good condition, you will get your money back. Of course, if the rod fails at any time due to material or workmanship you will get a replacement or your money back (your choice) and an appology from me.

Impatience and fatigue are the enemies of good craftsmanship. When I get tired or impatient, I leave the bench for a while, so I only make about 8 rods per year. However, I do try to keep at least one of my designs on hand so your wait could be much shorter than the above suggests.

If you are interested, give me a call, send me an email, or better yet, come on over.
